Provider-led weight loss

GLP-1s work. They're not for everyone.

GLP-1 medications are effective. A licensed provider has to clear you before this program makes sense for you. Start with the eligibility check; a provider takes it from there.

What GLP-1s actually are

How these medications work

GLP-1 medications are well-studied and effective for the right patient. Here is the honest picture.

GLP-1 receptor agonists are a class of medications that mimic a hormone involved in appetite regulation and insulin secretion. Originally developed for type 2 diabetes management, they have produced documented weight reduction in clinical trials when prescribed to appropriate patients.

They work at a hormonal signaling level, promoting satiety and reducing caloric intake. They are not appetite suppressants in the traditional sense. They require subcutaneous injection on a weekly schedule with gradual dose increases.

Common agents in this class include semaglutide and tirzepatide. Both are available in FDA-approved branded formulations. Compounded versions have been widely used during periods of manufacturer shortage; the regulatory picture around compounded formulations continues to evolve.

Compounded drug products are not approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness, or quality by the FDA. Compounded medications are prescribed at a licensed provider's discretion based on a clinical assessment and may differ from FDA-approved drugs in efficacy, safety, risk, and side-effect profile.

All GLP-1 prescriptions require evaluation by an independent licensed provider. ForgeVita does not prescribe, evaluate, or practice medicine.

Candidacy first

Why we gate this program

GLP-1 candidacy is a real clinical question. The gate exists because it has to.

GLP-1s are not appropriate for patients with certain medical histories, and a provider who says no when it is not a fit is part of the value, not an obstacle. We don't want patients who shouldn't be on these medications to get them through us.

Every intake starts with an eligibility review by a licensed provider. That review is not a formality. If you are a candidate, the provider moves forward. If you are not, you will hear it plainly and may get a suggestion for a different path. The program being provider-evaluated does not mean it is hard to access. It means the right clinical check happens first.

ForgeVita is set up to serve all 50 states, with state eligibility verified at intake. Availability and pricing for any specific treatment are subject to the licensure and clinical judgment of the affiliated providers in your state, and individual programs may open in different states at different times. Some treatments require synchronous (video) visits in certain states; others may be offered asynchronously.
Eligibility for treatment is determined by a licensed provider following a clinical assessment. Submission of an intake does not guarantee that any prescription will be issued. Results, timelines, and product availability may vary by individual and by state.
Eligibility factors

What a provider evaluates

These are educational factors providers typically consider during evaluation. This is not a quiz or screening tool.

BMI and weight history

Providers typically consider BMI as a starting point. Individual history, prior weight loss attempts, and comorbidities all factor in. BMI alone does not determine candidacy.

Medical history

GLP-1 medications are contraindicated for patients with certain personal or family history of thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. Full medical history is required.

Current medications

GLP-1 agents interact with medications including other diabetes drugs and some blood pressure medications. The provider reviews your full current medication list.

Willingness to do ongoing follow-up

GLP-1 treatment requires ongoing provider review and dose management. Patients who want a one-time prescription without follow-up are not appropriate candidates.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about GLP-1 programs, costs, and what happens if you're not a candidate.

What does it cost?
We don't list prices on this site because clinical fees are set by the licensed providers and pharmacy, not by us. Before you pay anything, the secure clinical workflow shows you every charge and exactly who you're paying. No charge happens before you see and approve it.
Compounded vs. branded GLP-1
FDA-approved branded GLP-1 medications are available when supply permits. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide formulations were widely used during manufacturer shortage periods; the regulatory picture for compounded versions continues to change. If a compounded option is offered, it will be clearly identified as compounded and not FDA-approved as equivalent to the branded product. The provider determines what is appropriate for you individually based on current law and clinical judgment.
What if I'm not a candidate?
The provider may suggest other evaluation paths or decline to prescribe. Sometimes the answer is no. Treatment is never guaranteed. If the provider does not perform a clinical evaluation, no evaluation fee is charged.
Is this covered by insurance?
No. ForgeVita operates outside traditional health insurance networks. You pay directly. All charges are shown in full before you authorize anything.
